Comfortex is Committed to Window Covering Child Safety

Comfortex is dedicated to preventing accidents involving children and pets by raising the awareness of the dangers of accessible cords and by providing child-safe custom window fashions.

Blinds and shades that are improperly installed or out of safety compliance can pose a potential strangulation hazard to young children. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, corded window coverings are among the top hidden hazards in American homes.

"Best For Kids" Certified Program

Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) announced the industry's first third-party certification program designed to help consumers and retailers identify window covering products that are best suited for use in homes with young children.

To be part of the new Best for Kids program, products are submitted to a WCMA-recognized third party testing laboratory where the products are required to and must meet stringent criteria. Once the products meet these criteria, they are "Certified Best For Kids". Comfortex is proud to have a number of products "Certified Best For Kids".

Comfortex Window Fashions cordless alternatives and products with inaccessible cords are available in the following product lines,

Child Safety Is Serious Business.

That's why the window coverings industry uses warning tags, warning labels, and other methods to communicate the potential hazards of corded window coverings. The warning shown here, for example, communicates the important message about cords being a potential strangulation hazard and suggests choosing cordless alternatives or products with inaccessible cords.

Comfortex Window Fashions is dedicated to preventing accidents involving children and pets by raising the awareness of the dangers of accessible cords and by providing child-safe custom window fashions.
