General
What are people saying about the product?
Those surveyed love the style, look and ease of installation. "Attractive, beautiful when up."  "Gorgeous."  "11 out of 10!" "Love the soft look, more pleasant than any other blinds, less expensive than drapery."  "Love the material" "Thrilled with Comfortex" "Installation is extremely easy."

Are Ballet Performance Drapery Sheers designed for use on windows and sliding glass doors?
The soft flowing fabrics are perfect over windows. Floor length Drapery Sheer makes a dramatic statement and allows for tighter sheer closure in the top 3/4 of the product, to cover the length of the window.

Drapery Sheers are also perfect for sliding glass doors. Rotate the sheers closed to soften the incoming light.  If light blockage is required throughout the length of the sheer, the optional vertical PVC vanes may be added to increase the sheer's darkening capabilities.

What material is the fabric made of?
Ballet Performance Drapery Sheers are fabricated with a patented hinged fabric made of 100% prime polyester blend.

How are Ballet™ Performance Drapery Sheers made?
Drapery Sheers are made from panels of sheer fabric. Each fabric panel contains 3, 4 or 5 billows. Depending on the width of your track you will receive a combination of fabric panels utilizing as many 5 billow panels as possible. The fabric panels attach to the track with specially designed fabric hangers which are attached to each section of the panel.

What type of light control and privacy options do Ballet Performance Drapery Sheers provide?
Choices of a cord and chain combination or wand control allow you to easily rotate the sheers through varying levels of privacy and light control.

-View through: softly diffused light
-Traverse and stack to the side: unobstructed view
-Rotated closed: increased light blockage

When rotated to the closed position, the tightest closure will be in the top ¾ of the drapery sheer. The fabric will flow more loosely toward the floor, allowing more light to gently filter through the sheer.

How many styles and colors are Ballet™ Performance Drapery Sheers available in?
There are 8 fabric styles available in whites, off-whites and soft earth tones for a total of 36 skus.

What options are available with Ballet™ Performance Drapery Sheers?
Ballet Performance Drapery Sheers come standard with a sleek track system. An aluminum valance with coordinating insert strip, hardwood fascia, fabric scarf or room darkening PVC vanes are available separately for an up charge.

What is a fabric scarf?
A fabric scarf is a coordinating, non-hinged fabric panel designed for use on your own decorative hardware. Each fabric panel is 60" wide and can be ordered by the yard. It comes standard with 4" hems a no hem option is also available. Scarves can be mounted through sconces, metal tiebacks, scarf holders or draped over a rod.

Fabric scarves will be a close color match although some variations may occur due to the different process used to make this fabric without the hinge line. Remember that the fabric will appear darker when it is folded and layered.

How do I measure for my fabric scarf?
Measure the window width, then down each side to the point you want the scarf ends to fall. Add additional yardage depending on the design you plan to create (approximately 20" for each deeper swag and 30" for each knot).

Can I order the drapery sheer alone and select a top treatment at a later date?
Top treatments and room darkening vanes can be ordered and easily installed at a later date without removing the drapery sheer panels.

Product Specifications & Performance

Why is there a seam/hinge line in the back of my Ballet Performance Drapery Sheers?
The specially engineered and patented hinge line is what allows the drapery sheers to fold into billows without the addition of vertical vanes.

The hinges are designed to separate as part of the fabrication process. Some slight separation may occur along the hinge line at the top and bottom of the sheer fabric panels during the handling and installation process. This slight separation is normal and does not affect the function or beauty of Ballet Performance Drapery Sheers.

Are Ballet™ Performance Drapery Sheers room darkening?
Ballet sheers can be rotated in either direction (left or right) to increase light blockage. Adjust the level of privacy from any point in the room by rotating the sheers to the desired angle of closure.

If light blockage is required throughout the length of the sheer, the optional vertical PVC vanes may be added to increase the room darkening capabilities.

How are the room darkening vanes attached?
Room darkening vanes attach to the track carriers using a specially designed hook. Vanes are placed behind the sheers and are virtually unnoticeable when the sheers are in the view-through position. Room darkening vanes can be ordered and installed at a later date without removing the drapery sheer panels.

Is there a light gap on an inside mount?
When the Ballet Performance Drapery Sheers are in the open view through position there is up to a 2" gap along the outside edge. This space provides room for the fabric billows when the drapery sheers are rotated to the closed position. When the sheers are rotated closed, the gap will disappear.

Will there be a center gap if I order a split stack?
The carriers on the Ballet Performance Drapery Sheer track are configured to butt together as closely as possible to minimize light gap (the distance between the two fabric sheers when the sheers are drawn together). Sheers gently flow together and the gap lessens as you view along the length of the drapery. When the Drapery Sheers are rotated closed, the gap virtually disappears.

Minimal light gaps measure as follows:
-
Widths up to 78": gap is approximately 1/2"
-Widths 78" to 118": gap is approximately 3/4"
-Widths 118" to 192": gap is approximately 1 1/4"

Cleaning & Care
Are there any special guidelines for handling drapery sheers?

Fabric should be handled with care by always supporting the full weight of the fabric panel. Do not stretch the fabric or allow an entire panel to dangle from a single hanger. Excessive fabric handling and stretching may cause an increase in separation along the hinge line. See the installation and care guide for more details.

How do I clean and care for my Ballet™ Performance Drapery Sheers?
Regular feather dusting or light vacuuming will help keep your Drapery Sheers looking new for years. Spills and stains can be lightly blotted with a cloth or damp sponge. Be careful not to pull or tug on the fabric.

Due to the delicate nature of the fabrics, limited removal and handling is recommended. If necessary, Drapery Sheers may be washed by hand or machine washed on gentle cycle in a mesh bag. Please review the installation and care guide for detailed information on proper removal and handling.

Instructions are as follows:
-Remove room darkening vanes if applicable
-Be sure to hold onto the PVC vane hangers for re-installation
-See Installation & Care Guide for details on proper removal
-Gently remove fabric from track
-Remember to support the full weight of the drapery sheer panels
-See Installation & Care Guide for details on proper removal
-Treat stains with a stain remover stick if applicable
-Neatly fold and place each drapery sheer panel into its own mesh bag
-Do not unsnap fabric hangers within a panel
-Wash in cold water on the gentle cycle with a gentle detergent
-When the cycle is complete immediately & carefully remove drapery sheer panels from the bags
-Re-install the drapery sheer panels
-See Installation & Care Guide for details on proper installation
-Gently reshape the billows and leave sheers in the open view through position to dry
-Minor wrinkles may be removed by lightly steaming or ironing the panels on a very low setting

Note: Excessive handling may lead to separation along hinge line and subtle fraying along top and bottom edges of fabric panels. Washing may affect the hand of the fabric which may cause the drapery sheers to perform slightly differently from before they were washed.

Can I move the drapery panels out of the way so I can wash my windows?
The Ballet Performance Drapery Sheers track system allows homeowners to push the drapery sheers out of the way. Simply draw the drapery sheers completely closed and gently unsnap and slide the distance plate in the opposite direction that the vanes stack. The carrier clips will move freely within the track, allowing the fabric stack to be moved to the opposite end.
