COMFORTEX WINDOW FASHION PRODUCTS EARN GREENGUARD CERTIFICATION MAPLEWOOD, NY - Comfortex Window Fashions, a leading innovative manufacturer and fabricator of custom window treatment products for global distribution, is pleased to announce the GREENGUARD certification of ten Comfortex products and the launch of the EcoGreen™ rating program. Ten of Comfortex’s products have earned GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified and the GREENGUARD Children & Schools certification from the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute. The GREENGUARD Certification Program is an industry-independent, third-party testing program for low-emitting products and materials. GREENGUARD Environmental Institute is an industry-independent, non-profit organization which establishes acceptable indoor air standards for indoor products, environments, and buildings. GREENGUARD Certification is a tool for architects, designers, product specifiers, and purchasing organizations wanting to locate, specify, and purchase off-the-shelf, low-emitting products for indoor environments. Comfortex has also launched the EcoGreen™ rating program for consumers and window treatment dealers. The EcoGreen Rating System features rankings for Comfortex window coverings in four categories: responsible materials, sustainable manufacturing, GREENGUARD certification and energy efficiency. The EcoGreen rating measures a shade or blind environmental friendliness on a point scale of 1 to 10. The higher a window covering’s EcoGreen rating, the "greener" it is and the lower its harm to the health of the planet. “Consumers are increasingly interested in environmentally responsible products. With the EcoGreen rating system we can now provide the information they are seeking to make an informed decision. The EcoGreen rating system was created to counter the green confusion for the retailer and consumer when selecting window coverings” stated John C.
