COMFORTEX EARNS FIVE INNOVATION AWARDS FROM The Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) announced on April 2, 2009 that Comfortex Window Fashions, a worldwide leader in the custom window fashions industry, has been recognized with five awards from their 2009 Product Innovation Awards Competition. This brings the total number of WCMA Awards Comfortex has earned in the past nine years to 43. The Comfortex Odysee Insulating Fabric Blinds - Personal Color System earned the WCMA Judges' Award. The Judges Award is awarded to a submission exhibiting measurable benefit or standout aesthetic appeal to end users. Odysee Insulating Blinds combine the energy efficient performance of cellular shades with the variable light control of traditional wood blinds. The 1600 color choices in Odysee's Personal Color System provide a broad spectrum of colors for designers and homeowners. Odysee Insulating Fabric Blinds also garnered a honorable mention for Best New Technical Innovation in the Horizontal Blind Category. The Limited Edition Sampling Program for the Odysee Insulating Blinds earned the Best New Sampling program. The Limited Edition program affords dealers the ability to create their own fabric collection exclusive to themselves with their company name and logo on the fabric cards. Comfortex received an honorable mention for Best Energy Efficiency in the Green Product Category. The Comfortex ComforTrack Plus Energy Saving Sidetrack Insulation System features several insulating honeycomb fabrics with an integrated sidetrack system that seals off the gaps between the shades and the windows to create a solid insulating barrier to drafts. By maximizing a home's efficiency, homeowners can reduce their utility bills and ultimately lessen their impact on the environment. ComforTrack Plus Insulation System has just been certified for Federal Tax Credits for Energy Efficiency. Comfortex’s EcoGreen Rating System was awarded Best Consumer Education in the Merchandising Program category. The EcoGreen Rating System features rankings for Comfortex window coverings in four categories: responsible materials, sustainable manufacturing, GREENGUARD certification and energy efficiency. The EcoGreen rating measures a shade or blind environmental friendliness on a point scale of 1 to 10. The higher a window covering’s EcoGreen rating, the "greener" it is and the lower its harm to the health of the planet. “These awards confirm our continuing commitment to strengthen and grow our company through constant innovation and continuous improvement,” said Comfortex Window Fashions President Thomas J. Marusak. “As consumers are challenging us to develop energy and environmentally conscious window coverings, Comfortex Window Fashions pleased to be honored by our peers for our contributions.” The WCMA Product Innovation Awards Competition is open to all manufacturers and suppliers of window coverings in the United States and Canada to recognize significant advancements in the window covering industry. An expert panel of five judges from the interior design community selected the winners. The WCMA Product Innovation Awards will be presented to Comfortex at a ceremony in Atlanta, GA in conjunction with the International Window Covering Expo on May 14, 2009 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
