Comfortex Earns Five Innovation Awards From Window Covering Manufacturers Association

MAPLEWOOD, NY - The Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) announced on April 20, 2010 that Comfortex Window Fashions, a worldwide leader in the custom window fashions industry, has been recognized with five awards from their 2010 Product Awards Competition. This brings the total number of WCMA Product Awards Comfortex has earned in the past ten years to 47. The WCMA Product Awards recognize the window covering industry’s most innovative new products and ideas.

The Comfortex PERSONA Roller and Roman Shades program earned the WCMA Judges' Award. The Judges Award is awarded to a submission exhibiting measurable benefit or standout aesthetic appeal to end users. The PERSONA program allows homeowners to create roller and roman shades using a palette of 900 colors in combination with textures, patterns and design options. The PERSONA Roller and Roman Shade program also garnered a Most Innovative Overall Roller Shade Design in the Roman, Roller and Pleated Shade category.

Over 15 million shade possibilities exist for PERSONA Roller and Roman Shades and are showcased in the PERSONA Roller and Roman Shade Sample Book. The PERSONA Sample Book earned a third place award for Best Point of Sale Merchandising.

PERSONA Custom Graphics program earned Honorable Mention awards in the Roman, Roller and Pleated Shade category.  The PERSONA Custom Graphics program takes an ordinary roller shade and transforms it with the ability to print a logo, photo, artwork or advertisements on to the fabric.

Comfortex received an honorable mention in the miscellaneous products division for the Designer Metallic Hardware program for Cellular, Pleated, Roller and Roman shade programs. Designer Metallic Hardware program allows homeowners to carry over the look of brushed nickel and oil rubbed bronze finishes from kitchen fixtures and other home accessories to their windows.

“These awards confirm our continuing commitment to strengthen and grow our company through constant innovation and continuous improvement,” said Comfortex Window Fashions President Thomas J. Marusak. “We are especially pleased that our new PERSONA program earned four awards,” stated Marusak.

The WCMA Product Innovation Awards Competition is open to all manufacturers and suppliers of window coverings in the United States and Canada to recognize significant advancements in the window covering industry. A panel of four judges from the interior design community selected the winners. The WCMA Product Awards will be presented to Comfortex at a ceremony in Atlanta, GA in conjunction with the VISION10 Expo (formerly International Window Covering Expo) in Atlanta, GA on May 12, 2010 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
